Littlemill (silent)
Littlemill is a lost distillery which was previously sited at Bowling, just outside Dumbarton. In 1823, Mrs Jane MacGregor became the licensee, making her the first female licensee in the world. Littlemill fell silent in 1994; it was dismantled in 1997 and a fire destroyed any remains in 2004. Littlemill Whisky is becoming increasingly rare, with occasional official bottlings from the brand's current owners Loch Lomond Group.
