Glenburgie
Glenburgie (which was originally called Kilnflat) was opened in 1829 on flatlands east of Forres, just off the main road to Elgin. Ballantine's is one of the biggest selling Scotch Whisky brands in the world, and Glenburgie is a key component.
In 1958, two "Lomond" stills were installed to produce a different style of spirit that was needed in blends - very occasionally bottlings of this Whisky, Glencraig, appear. The Lomond stills were removed in 1981.
