Glen Albyn (silent)
Originally established by James Sutherland, Mayor of Inverness, Glen Albyn is one of three Inverness distilleries to have closed in the 1980s, leaving none in the city. The distillery was opened in the October of 1844, but it wasn't until 1846 that production began with many decades of troubled history of bankruptcy and even a fire. There was an official Rare Malts bottling in 2001, however Gordon & Macphail and Signatory seem to be the main source of independent bottles of this very rare malt.
