| Omar - which means amber in Gaelic - is the single malt whisky from Nantou, Taiwan's second whisky distillery, founded by the state-owned Taiwan Tobacco and Liquors company. A relaxing of Taiwan's alcohol production laws in 2008 opened up the market and Nantou distillery started producing the spirit that would become Omar. Nantou distillery is located in the mountains of Taiwan and is fed by fresh spring water. Its sub-tropical climate results in fast-maturing whisky. |
