Wine Enthusiast Review
Rated 85-89
Delicate, lightly honeyed and not overly sweet scents with a buttery/creamy quality. Palate entry is gooey, concentrated, chewy and numbingly sweet; the midpalate phase heightens the impressions of the entry. Aftertaste is scoop-out-with-spoon thick and tonsil-screamingly sweet.
A classic German honey liqueur developed in Eastern Prussia in the late 15th century. Barenjager is a unique liqueur of high quality made exclusively from pure, natural ingredients, such as especially aromatic honey and fine spirits. This liqueur owes its delicious taste exclusively to a generous measure of Yucatan honey. No flavors or aromas are added. As it is not fixed on a specific spirit flavor, it is a very versatile liqueur, which forms an excellent base for interesting cocktails and longdrinks. You can also drink it "on the rocks" or mix it with tea, with hot or cold milk, or use it to sweaten a "Hot Toddy". It is also delicious with ice-cream. The attractive presentation grants this liqueur a distinctive product identity and makes it the perfect gift item.
