Bellingham Bernard Series Chenin Blanc Old Vine 2024 750ml
$86.50 price per bottle
This South African Chenin Blanc hails from the Coastal Region, where Bellingham Winery has earned a reputation for innovation and quality. The Bernard Series is a tribute to Bernard Podlashuk, a pioneering force in South African winemaking, known for his bold spirit and modernizing influence. The wine is sourced from old bush vines, reflecting both heritage and craftsmanship. Wine Description Brilliant golden in colour, this Chenin Blanc opens with expressive aromas of tropical fruit—pineapple, peach, and passion fruit—layered with honeysuckle, baked apple, and a touch of oatmeal and spice from judicious oak ageing. The palate delivers a rich, creamy texture balanced by zesty acidity, with notes of citrus marmalade and ripe stone fruit. Full-bodied and complex, the wine finishes long and vibrant, showcasing freshness and elegance. Crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc vines aged between 35 to 47 years, it is best enjoyed now through 2030. Though not certified organic, the wine is produced using sustainable viticultural methods. Food Pairing Ideal with crab cakes topped with lemon aioli, roast chicken with rosemary, grilled fish tacos, creamy mushroom pasta, or firm cheeses such as Gruyère. Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.
