Château Lafon-Rochet, a distinguished Fourth Growth estate from the 1855 Bordeaux classification, is situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established in the 16th century and originally named "Domaine de Rochet," it was renamed in 1650 following the marriage of Antoinette de Guillemotes to Étienne de Lafon. The Tesseron family acquired the estate in 1960, initiating significant renovations, including the construction of a new château. In 2021, the Lorenzetti family took ownership, continuing the legacy of producing esteemed wines. Wine Description The 2016 Château Lafon-Rochet presents a deep, dark ruby hue. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of blackberries, plums, and subtle violet notes. On the palate, it is well-structured with ripe tannins and excellent length, delivering flavors of dark fruits complemented by hints of cedar and spice.
