Our historic Estate is only a few kilometers from Florence, yet immersed in an incredibly well preserved natural environment in the Chianti Rufina region. The natural splendor, the thriving farm, and its history, integrate to form the soul of the Castello del Trebbio and of the family who owns it. Gentle slopes, covered in vineyards and olive groves dominate our timeless Tuscan landscape. This is the setting our guests enjoy every moment of their stay, sleeping in our houses, immersed in the beauty of the surrounding nature. All this contributes to create an unforgettable authentic experience. Today, the Castello del Trebbio is carefully managed by the Baj Macario family who has owned the estate since 1968. The family still lives in the estate historic castle and for them this terroir has become their “chosen land. ” The owners brought new life to the estate in the early days of their ownership, restoring the main building and several farmhouses. New vineyards have been added to the existing ones, and important far-sighted business decisions with regards to the wine production, have been made, allowing a revival of top quality wine production. In addition to producing excellent wines, the owners welcome guests desiring to stay on a wisely managed farm and looking forward to a vacation with a true Tuscan experience in mind. The owners have developed great expertise in the fields of viticulture and enology through various activities. They’ve created a private agricultural company called Tecnovite, which specializes in the research, planting, and management of vineyards and olive groves (for themselves as well as for other wineries). They also own and manage two additional wine estates, one in Maremma (Tenuta Casadei) and one in Sardinia (Agricola Olianas). Tuscany ancient traditions shape the passions of the ones who now manage the estate and live on it . Guests staying at the Castello del Trebbio will, for sure, be aware of their passion while experiencing life on a historical farm, where art, agriculture and history have gone hand in hand since Renaissance. You will be welcome to come and experience our history, culture and natural environment, enjoying a glass of our awarded Chianti Rufina. |
