Elephant Sloe Gin combines the premium London Dry Gin with the classic flavour of wild fresh sloe berries. The fruit is harvested by hand and carefully selected; keeping only the best berries for the sloe gin production. Elephant Sloe Gin is strictly limited to one vintage a year. Macerated in the gin for several months, these wild berries provide their typical flavour and warm red colour to the spirit. Compared to other sloe gins, it has a relatively low sugar content paired with a higher alcohol volume of 35% ABV. This makes it ideally suited to mixing in cocktails as well as enjoying it neat. Other text Every other Elephant Sloe Gin bottle comes with a set of colourful beads tied around the neck of the bottles. They are handcrafted especially for Elephant Gin by the Maasai in Kenya. Use them as a bracelet or necklace - whatever your preference! The Elephant Sloe Gin is only produced once a year and the labels feature the vintage year - handwritten by our calligrapher, of course.
Producer Elephant Gin produces award-winning handcrafted premium gin products made with rare African botanicals. While its story started in South Africa, Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany with a focus on highest quality production standards. All ingredients are hand-selected, bottles custom-made, labels hand-written and production efforts controlled by working in small batches. The idea for an African-inspired gin evolved while reminiscing about the so-called ‘sundowner’ drinks after a day out in the South African bush. These sunset cocktails are a big tradition in South Africa - and more often than not, they consist of a G&T. The idea was backed by a mutual love of exotic African botanicals and a realisation that these would make interesting additions to a premium gin, alongside more traditional botanicals such as juniper and orange peel. Elephant Gin is distilled using 14 botanicals, including rare African ingredients that haven’t been used in gin-making before. The botanicals are hand-selected to limit any impurities and ensure only the highest quality ingredients are used.
