Quinta Do Crasto Douro Vinha Maria Teresa 750ml

Wine maker notes Vinha Maria Teresa is a small plot of Quinta do Crasto which is planted with one hundred-year-old vines. This is the oldest plot of vines at Quinta do Crasto and its name is a tribute to the first grandchild of Constantino de Almeida, founder of the Quinta. Despite their low productivity, old vines give highly concentrated fruit allowing us to obtain a wine of great complexity. Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa wine is only made in the finest vintages in very limited quantities. A project called ”PatGen Vineyards” was recently developed in order to identify all the varieties that make up Maria Teresa’s vineyard with the goal of allowing the replacement of dead vines with genetically identical varieties. This therefore will preserve the ”terroir” and the ”field blend” of this exceptional vineyard. To date 45 different grape varieties have been identified in this ancient vineyard with 4,7 hectares of vines. For many wine enthusiasts, enjoying a Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa is a true privilege. Since its first release in 1998, Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa has been regarded as one of the greatest Portuguese wines and acclaimed by national and international specialized press.
