This smoky Single Malt from Old Pulteney is named after the street where the distillery resides. The spirit was matured in ex-bourbon casks that previously held heavily peated Whisky, imparting a nudge of smoke to this otherwise spicy, coastal dram. Nose: Rich and warming. Brimming initially with mellow wood smoke, honey and oily leather, blooming later into crisp green apple. Creamy vanilla and a hint of burnt toffee in the background. Palate: Freshly ground spices and soft vanilla balance the notes of smoke and peat fire. There are both richly sweet and distinctly salty coastal flavours in the background, together reminiscent of salted caramel.
