A single cask Linkwood under the Cooper's choice range of independent releases. Aged for 20 years and finished in Marsala casks ( a fortified wine from Sicily) Distilled in june 1997 and aged in Ex-American oak before its additional finishing. Yielded only 345 bottles without chill filtering and natural colour. Nose: Blackcurrant cordial, mixed berry jam, furniture polish, black grape jelly, a chutney or reduced balsamic vinegar note, aromatic and fragrant winey oak, malty brown bread. Palate: Bluberry and black grape, more malty brown bread with dark honey notes on a firm body. Jammy-cordial like mouthfeel with some menthol and bramble jelly. Finish: Red and black fruits galore, malty, chutney like dry finish with a brambly and savoury note. A big and bold Speyside with lots of grapey and black forest fruit intensity.
