Guillon Painturaud Cognac Vsop 750ml
$108.99 price per bottle

The youngest of the range but older than most VSOP?s that Cognac drinkers have been familiar with - up until now. There is none of the immature brashness that is often found in young spirits; what the drinker will find is the trademark strawberry hints that are so prevalent throughout the Guillon-Painturaud range. This VSOP is made from Cognacs of around 5 years old. Alcohol by Volume 40%

In the tiny village of Biard, a mile or so outside the centre of the Grande Champagne region?s main town, S?gonzac, the latest generation of the Guillon family are carrying on the business of their farm which can trace itself back to 1610. The Cognacs are all produced on this small farm of only 18 hectares, that?s around 45 acres. It is produced in the same way that it has been for generations - with tender loving care, round the clock attention during the two stage distillation process; then many, many years in careful maturation - they even have a bed in the distillation room, like so many producers, so that the distillation is carefully monitored at all times. A member of Vigneron Ind?pendant, an organisation set up to promote the interests of those wine producers who produce everything from within their own farms. These are truly Single Estate Cognacs of the highest order, and completely true to the spirit that we are looking for with our range; a small independent producer, the highest quality combined with generations of expertise making a unique product which is completely different from everyone else?s. Any of the range is worthy of inclusion in every drinks cabinet. In charge of everything is Mme. Line Sauvant who took over from her father who in turn took over from his father, her grandfather, many years ago. This family tradition is in safe hands; these are exceptional Cognacs. Unlike most Cognacs, all Guillon Painturaud Cognacs are non-blended, meaning each spirit is made from the production of a single year. |
