A superb, mature single malt whisky from one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. This 27 yer old whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, but seems to have taken most of its influence from the latter. A big, rich, complex Sherry bomb with an abundance of darks fruits, caramel, chocolate, and sweet wood spice. Nose: Rich citrus fruits, vanilla, toffee, chocolate, honey, winter spices, apricot and a touch of liquorice. Palate: More citrus and orchard fruits along with rich creamy chocolate, layers of stewed apples and pears. Christmas pudding and hot vanilla sauce. Finish: Sparkling oranger, toasted coconut, sweet vanilla and caramel. Non chill filtered and natural colour.
