Bruichladdich - Black Art 4th Edition - 1990 23 year old 700ml
$839.46 price per bottle

Jim McEwan has done it again! The 4th edition of this very collectable Black Art series is now available. Black Art 4 uses only the finest American and French oak casks, but that's all we know, in fact that's all anybody knows about this mysterious bottling (apart from Jim McEwan of course!) although i was told this edition used 6 different types of cask and included some Ex-Sauternes sweet wine casks. Nose: Dried red berries and sweet black grape, also like a cheese and wine party! chocolate lime sweets, raisin ,treacle tart, lemon sorbet and ginger. Palate: Red wine grape skins, dark chocolate, honeycomb, salted cashew nuts, sweet pudding wine, waxy tropical fruit and coconut. Finish: Sugared almonds, dried cranberry, red wine, chocolate, raisins, grape juice, dark honeycomb, caramelised orchard fruits. A weird and wonderful cocktail of a malt, Jim McEwan has very big boots to fill when he finally retires, a masterpiece from Bruichladdich and proof that not all the whisky from Islay has to be apeat monster.
