Don Julio Tequila is the world's original luxury tequila, founded in 1942 by 17-year-old Don Julio González in the volcanic highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. From the start, he chose quality over quantity — spacing each agave further apart, harvesting plant by plant, and slow-roasting piñas for up to 72 hours before double distillation. He even redesigned the bottle short and wide so guests could see each other across the table, a quiet declaration that this tequila belonged on it.
