Cazadores was born in 1922 when Don José María Bañuelos began quietly perfecting a tequila recipe in Arandas, in the heart of the Jalisco Highlands — a secret family formula passed down by word of mouth for generations before a distillery was built to share it with the world. The name means "hunters" in Spanish, inspired by the proud stags that roam the agave fields of the Highland region, a symbol of the patience and pursuit that defines great tequila. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the mineral-rich red clay soil of Los Altos at high altitude — producing agave with naturally higher sugar content and a distinctive fruity, floral character — Cazadores still uses the original 1922 recipe and a fully sustainable zero-waste production process.
